Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Chiropodist?
A Chiropodist is a licensed foot specialist trained to assess, treat, and prevent conditions affecting the feet and ankles. In Ontario, Chiropodists are regulated by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario (COCOO)
Both are foot specialists and have a similar scope of practice, but the main difference in Ontario is where and when they were trained. Chiropodists are educated in Canada and registered under Ontario’s Chiropody Act, while Podiatrists were trained before 1993 (often in the U.S.) and can perform limited bone surgery.
No — you can book directly with a Chiropodist on our website or by phone. Referrals are welcome but not required.

No, you don’t need a prescription before visiting us. As Chiropodists, we are authorized to assess, diagnose, and prescribe custom orthotics.

Chiropody services are not covered by OHIP, but most extended health insurance plans (e.g., Sun Life, Manulife, Green Shield) reimburse part or all of your treatments.
The more you can bring to your first appointment, the better we can tailor our treatment plans specifically for you. Please bring the following if you can:

– A list of your current medications
– Any orthotics or footwear you use currently
– Your insurance information (if applicable)
– Any relevant imaging reports (X-rays, MRIs, etc.)
